Cravats are not out of fashion.

They look good, I don't understand why people think they are impractical.

Exactly. [ Finally, someone that understands. ] The point of a cravat is to accentuate formalwear, not to cohere to practicality. Even if they were impractical, that would in no way impact their purpose!

All you have to do is slap one on, and people will be convinced you're fancy. It's impressive how much a little piece of cloth can do, really!

I would argue that it isn’t the cravat that makes one fancy, it’s how one holds oneself. A cravat merely accentuates that.

Yes, that is certainly a danger. Wearing one in situations that require one to flee from pursuers, for example, would be foolhardy. There is, as with all things, a time and a place.
