Guess I should. Sixteen-billion-years on this planet has been just the worst. People change their vernacular every few centuries and talking to them gets more and more irritating.

[ Ugh! ]

Yeah. As a familiar to a Lord of Chaos, Teekl gains a lot. I can't hold all the stupid knowledge this world has, so she's able to take on the burden of it for me. [ Huffs. ] She just doesn't need to correct me in front of people.

Mortals really change their language that quickly? I would struggle to keep up, too.

At least you have the extra help. My dog is wonderful, but infinite knowledge of the world is, um, not a thing he has.

Well, Teekl's also my anchor to reality. Without her, I couldn't exist at all.

Giving her infinite knowledge is the least that I can do. [ And he takes her off his shoulders to give a hug. ]

Your dog does what, though? I mean, like, what does your dog do for you? Is he an anchor?

[Zagreus smiles. Lookit this mini incarnation of Chaos giving his kitty a hug. They're adorable, not that he'll say it aloud.]

Well, Cerberus has always been there for me, to cheer me up or keep me company. And he likes all the pets and cuddles I give him. One of his heads does, anyway. I can't say that he's an anchor, though -- he simply guards the gates of the Underworld.

Just guards the gates? Not even a familiar? Yet you feel all that for him?

[ He gives Teekl another hug before letting the cat crawl back onto his shoulders. ]

Well, you are like kind of mortal, so I guess that sort of attachment makes sense. [ Squints. ] Kind of. [ He looks at Teekl. ] And I guess Cerberus is going to live for millenia, too, so... yeah, okay.

Guess it makes sense. [ He decides to say that, again, to show he's you know, trying. Chaos would be happy that he's trying. The entity really likes Zagerus and has stressed that Klarion should get along. ]

[Zagreus shakes his head, frowning, as he thinks of a better way to explain it.]

It has nothing to do with being immortal or anything of the sort, though I suppose that helps. It's just... things have always been difficult for me at the House, and so it was nice to always have a friendly face there, through thick and thin.

Er-- well, three faces. But you know what I mean. Aside from when I first tried running away, things have always been good between me and him. None of the complicated stuff I've been through with everyone else.

[ No? Hmmm.

But it's about how he likens his relationship with Vandal Savage. The man's an immortal and has come to interest him; a lot of the ridiculous plans that Savage has is quite chaotic and he enjoys them. But this sounds a lot more mushy.

Empathizing on this front is difficult. He understands the affection and connection that one feels towards their familiar and anchor. But just warm fuzzies without those things? Hmmm.

Well. He likes Zagreus. The demi-god is polite and beloved by Chaos. Just being around him is nice due to that quiet blessing, so guess it's like that??? Yeah, sure. ]

[ Which is to say all that talk goes in one ear and out the other. It's difficult to contextualize what Zagreus is talking about, but he gets some of it. Kind of. ]

Yeah, okay. Sure! That makes sense. I get it.

[ He crosses his arms and nods. The cat on his shoulder tries to catch eyes with Zagreus and slowly shakes her head, before casually going back to licking her paw. ]

[He'll try not to laugh when he spots the cat's reaction, but he does crack a smile and covers it with a hand and a fake cough. Ahem.]

Er, right, good. But don't worry if you don't! It's just nice that we have something in common, even if it's not exactly the same.

Yeah. Right.

You also get that chaos is the best force in the universe and all realities. Most people are all about thinking that order is, and that's what makes them losers.

It's true. Father may keep the Underworld running with his rules and order, but he's just making everyone miserable in the process, including himself.

There's no harm in shaking things up.

Exactly!

[ He snaps his fingers to make a little plush toy of Teekl. Looking it over, he gives it a fond pat on the head before tossing it to Zagreus. ]

I promised you my power, so here you are. In the same way that those Olympians do things. Only little bit more like me. It's chaos, after all.

Chaos gives choices to you. I give just chaos.

[ In short! ] This little beauty just does whatever, even I don't know what it'll do when used. [ Might summon him. Might boost any boon or item. May do nothing. May obliterate everything on the field. Who knows??? Klarion doesn't! ]

[gasp! He catches the plush, and looks absolutely ecstatic.]

It's just like Nyx's Chthonic Companions! I love it. What do I call it? Her?

[Teekl? Mini-Teekl? Something else entirely?]

Of course.

[ Oh, right, a name. ]

It has to be something super great and absolutely one-of-a-kind.

[ Totally. ]

[ Klarion's OC, do not steal. ]

[Zagreus laughs.] Very well! Mini-Teekl, I promise to take good care of you.

[He hugs the plush. Look, you've made one Underworld prince very happy.]

I know you didn't give me her expecting anything in exchange, but I'd like for you to have this all the same. Contraband, all the way from Mount Olympus. [ta da! He offers Klarion a bottle of ambrosia.]

Well, I expect to one day get ice cream and cake from Charon and Hermes. [ 'Cause Charon's kind of like his nephew? Kind of? Only in all respects, Klarion's much younger but that's by choice!! Being an adult is the worst. It's having to accept reality of situations and bleh. Bleh! ]

But still...! [ And he happily takes the ambrosia! ] They never share this stuff with me on Olympus. [ He's also not allowed there, really. :( Too chaotic for those orderly losers. ] This is the best kind of candy.

[ ............ ]

You're all right, Zagreus!

You'll definitely get it someday! But in the meantime, this is the next best thing, I think.

[Even Chaos won't say no to nectar and ambrosia, amused as they were by the idea of receiving offerings at first. The stuff's just too good to resist.]

And next time you're on Olympus and they're still acting stingy, ask Dionysus for ambrosia. I'm sure he'll give you some, even if no one else will.
