The things we become known for aren’t always what we’d like to be known for. Reputations are hard to run from. Sometimes they’re not even deserved. So here’s your chance to set the record straight. Clear up some misplaced assumptions, debunk any rumours about yourself and defy your stereotypes.

how to play:

Top level with something(s) your character is tired of people assuming about them, blaming them for, or pigeonholing them about, etc. Say it in person or over text.

Comment on any surprising, or not so surprising declarations.

You're not supposed to...

[He puts on an expression of deep suffering. But since this is Linhardt, he isn't actually surprised by any of this. Or upset.]

I guess I have to keep you a bit longer.

My apologies, Seteth.

[Supposed to. Linhardt is pretty sure neither he nor Claude was supposed to be spending the time in Abyss that they had.

Claude cares more about tradition and rules than Linhardt, but that's a pretty low bar to clear.]

It does save you having to find a suitable box.

Good. I won't have to give you detention.

[As much as he tries to buck tradition, he can't shake everything about his upbringing, nor would he want to. It's still enough that he has no desire to scold Linhardt for his behavior most of the time.

But not all of the time.]

It does. Or not, since I'm not scheming anything right now. While awake.

If you give me detention, you'd have to show up and watch me.

[Therefore ensuring Claude would also have detention. Which is the way Linhardt argued his way out of (most) detentions at Garreg Mach. Hanneman was the only exception, having taken it to be an invitation to talk with Linhardt about his future. It was terrible.]

Not verbally. That doesn't mean anything. It's not really 'scheming' if you're open about it, after all. It's just planning.

[So really he was inviting sarcastic commentary by leading with an untestable statement.]
