Forgiveness is harder than grudges. If we can't try to forgive each other, what hope is thar? They at least need to be given the chance to change. But at the end of the day, it's thar choice is they change or don't at the opportunity. If they don't - well. They condemned themselves.

That is a luxury that many of us cannot afford. What do you propose? That we simply run and hide? Surrender and live as slaves, or cattle? War is an inevitability when compromise cannot be reached. Not everyone can be reasoned with, and not all beings are worthy of mercy.

If you stop to ask every foe that attacks you if they would be willing to change their ways, you have to have a considerable advantage over them in military strength, otherwise you're going to simply die.

Sometimes war happens because trying to compromise didn't happen in the first place. But reason and mercy should be tried first before resorting to anything else.
