Everyone should enjoy cake.

[ He already has his hands out. This lady is giving out cake? ]

Oh, you want some? I... [ With a very focused expression on her face, she feels around her dress, as if looking for pockets that are definitely not there and in them, cake that, too, definitely isn't there. ] I unfortunately don't have any on me at this very moment, but we can go buy some for you at the pâtisserie!

[ This fancy lady is going to buy him cake? He wants to cry because he's so happy. But he manages to keep it together and give her a toothy smile, with one missing. He's so glad he survived scurvy now. ]

T... thank you, Miss Lady. What is a pat..... pat... s... patser? [ With his strong Swedish accent and tiny voice, pâtisserie isn't even close to happening. ]

[ She looks him up and down, quickly taking his measurements. Much too tall for her own gowns, but there's a seamstress in town who never complains when Thérèse wants a thousand corrections... And since that is where they are going under any circumstances, well. It's her money, still. She can do with it what she wants. ]

When we have eaten our pastries, I shall take you to my tailor and you can have a dress. A simple one, but consider it a charity.
