So get this. Oryx's sister? The whole Trickster Queen of Mothness Savathun? Died. But got brought back by a ghost. Then they talked a bunch of other ghosts into abandoning humanity- not the Traveller, Humanity. Plan was for her to take the Traveller onto the throne world. So they go raise a haul of three-eyed dead in a fashion that'd let 'em use the light. Ever seen an Acolyte do blade barrage? Well you ain't livin'.

...Literally. They kill ya quick as the Crucible can. Whodathunk Shaxx's loudmouth murderfest would have actually been necessary. Though he had his own problems gettin' all conversational with his Ahamkara skull.

Yeah, turned out that Savathun was usin' that thing to put a viral song in his head. But the great part is? She convinced him that it was a tune Moondust made up, some song about the moon bein' made of cheese. Which at least the world ain't so strange that old Three-eyes didn't start singin' odd li'l ditties in her Luna-hellpit-inspired madness.

[He likes her though. He's just not gonna admit that easy. She's never told him the story as to why she wouldn't let them use her ship to go hunting for shrooms on the outer rim. Even with her going along.]

Well, in a manner of speaking. She's an exo. Turns out pappy got a little inventive with his sweet little heiresses. She was set on helpin' out the guardian, led 'em to Europa an' the Deep Stone Crypt.

[As much as he likes having the drop on Cayde and milking it for all it's worth, the Lone Wolf has put one little sliver of sentiment in him. It's shameful and it don't belong there, and he's pretty sure it's the worst that could happen to him. But.... still....]

Oh they found some Bray family drama, some sore losers, and some real nice loot. But of course any Braytech facility would have the good shit. Not Tex Mechanica, of course, but still could tear a hole in a Walker's hull!

[Oh yeah, there's the whole exo thing but that's almost bad news at this point, as he sees it. Unless you put it in the hands of the Bray girls instead of the old man.]

System was already crazy from the moment that Young Pup popped up. Things just kept escalatin'. I mean, new subclass though. Can't knock it.

Who knows, if you manage to cheat death one day? Uldren got killed and returned as a Guardian hunter with none of the baggage. Named 'Crow'. You might be able to dump the whole Vanguard job on him officially 'cause he's tryin' to be the responsible type.

[ he wants to ask about this new subclass but then drifter drops crow on his head and cayde just. laughs. a little bit because he feels like he's losing his mind, but mostly because that is genuinely some of the funniest shit he's ever heard. if he had tear ducts he'd be crying. ]

You know what, I say let him have it. Trying to wrangle hunters is as good a punishment as any. Wonder if it counts as meeting the dare.

[ there's a question. now obviously uldren couldn't complete the dare, he wasn't a guardian, and crow isn't uldren so he didn't kill cayde. he's gonna spend a while going over that one. ]

The great part of gentleman's agreements or the spit n' shake or whatever verbal nonsense you go for? You can sorta assume in some fine print after the fact. Just so long as you don't get all Ahamkara about it, you should be good.

People ain't quite figured out whether it was Petra or the Guardian that ended Uldren. But they was both there and both armed when he died. Apparently one shot done it. And the Guardian ain't talkin'.
