Correction, it's softer than chocolate. Sometimes you don't want anything overwhelming.

Or you want to dress it up however you want! Chocolate will always be chocolate, but you can add anything to vanilla and it'll compliment it well!

But it hardly works by itself, that's the issue. Chocolate works as a stand-alone and complimentary flavor, therefore it remains in the top for good taste and versatility.
