But if it's a choice shouldn't part of that choice involve whether or not they can afford it?

You think most people who're just starting out are gonna consider that? By the time they get established, most of them start thinking of it as a responsibility.

It's absolutely a choice, but a lot of the community just doesn't feel that way.

Anyone who's starting out in life should be considering their lifestyle choices and whether or not it's sustainable. Just because they don't doesn't make it any less their own legitimate responsibility.

I can't say you're wrong, but most people just aren't going to sit down and plot out all the upsides and the downsides when it comes to choosing this lifestyle.

It's easy to sit on the outside and consider these things logically, it's a little different when you're already in the mindset where you're quoting "With great power comes great responsibility" and thinking that people depend on you.

Never said you were. Just that it was easier before you got sucked into the mindset.

Then the mindset needs to change.

You're welcome to do what you can on that front. I don't see it happening any time soon, though.

I already am. It doesn't happen overnight.
