unpopular opinions

Do you think people are too sensitive? Or that Superman isn't so super? Think cats aren't cute? The Beatles are overrated? Love pineapple on pizza? Maybe you just don't like chips rly. Even the best of us have some controversial opinions. Let people know what a monster you are.

top level

with your characters’ unpopular and/or controversial opinion. Or share few of them at once. In person or via text. Prepare for disagreement.

to tell them why they're wrong, validate a kindred spirit, or just troll them for caring about such a silly-ass thing in the first place.

To begin with they let him out with minimal to no supervision and then when he, to the great surprise of no one with even a lick of sense, showed he was the same as he'd always been they decided not to do anything about him. How exactly are they innocent in the destruction he caused?

It doesn't. Nor the destruction other species cause. The difference is, who learns from the destruction? Thar are some species that never do.

Sorry, I realize I just awnsered the wrong thing!

What could one learn from this? Don't be an idiot? Don't trust obviously untrustworthy people? This could have easily been avoided, or at least mitigated if they at least would have set Tulkas to guard him after his release. Considering the emnity between those two I doubt Tulkas would have objected to the chance of being a thorn in his side.

The thing - is, with gods and Tulka is essentially one. Gods, or would-be-gods, that whole pantheon, don't usually value lesser life than them. Which is bad. But, I wouldn't be surprised if the humans did something disrespectful by accident or purposely.

I doubt they even thought about the humans when they made their choices, they hadn't even awakened yet. And the Valar are not gods, they are powerful spirits yes but not gods. They were happy enough to leave Morgoth to be the first and in some cases only Vala the humans would ever know, happy to leave those who were practicaly newborn to face his manipulations with little to no protection.

Would-be god, whatever you want to call it, it's a higher being that should care about those lesser. Need to set the example, after all. And one would hope a good example.

They should, but I'm not so sure any of them do anymore. I used to think they were... until they released Morgoth. I understand that they wanted to give their brother another chance but did they have to go about it with so little regard to the rest of us? He'd been imprissoned for a lot of things, one of them was hunting, torturing and killing my people, shouldn't we have had some say in his release?

They didn't even ask! They told us he had changed, that he was safe! And then he murdered my grandfather and they tell us the time to act isn't now?! What about the people in the lands he fled to!?

[There's an exhale] Well, I am about hope me. And I would like to think that a long time in an eternal prison would give them time to reflect on what they did wrong and attempt to change for the better... But sometimes... They don't and it's their choice.

I'm sorry. I'm so, so sorry about your grandfather.

Hope... is such a hard thing to hold onto at times. But I don't blame them for giving him a second chance, I might not have liked it but I understood that part, it is how they went about it I can't forgive them for. Some people don't want to change and I'm quite sure he's one of them.

...Thank you. He didn't deserve to die like that... alone in the dark.
