Who needs a jaded rant when you were already proven right, Brother! Traveller's gone out of fashion. Last City's got Fallen livin' in it with the Saint bein' kin to 'em. Ghosts been choosin' Hive as their special someone so people are seein' they ain't great by default. Dogs an' cats livin' together. Stuff's wild.

So get this. Oryx's sister? The whole Trickster Queen of Mothness Savathun? Died. But got brought back by a ghost. Then they talked a bunch of other ghosts into abandoning humanity- not the Traveller, Humanity. Plan was for her to take the Traveller onto the throne world. So they go raise a haul of three-eyed dead in a fashion that'd let 'em use the light. Ever seen an Acolyte do blade barrage? Well you ain't livin'.

...Literally. They kill ya quick as the Crucible can. Whodathunk Shaxx's loudmouth murderfest would have actually been necessary. Though he had his own problems gettin' all conversational with his Ahamkara skull.

Yeah, turned out that Savathun was usin' that thing to put a viral song in his head. But the great part is? She convinced him that it was a tune Moondust made up, some song about the moon bein' made of cheese. Which at least the world ain't so strange that old Three-eyes didn't start singin' odd li'l ditties in her Luna-hellpit-inspired madness.

[He likes her though. He's just not gonna admit that easy. She's never told him the story as to why she wouldn't let them use her ship to go hunting for shrooms on the outer rim. Even with her going along.]

Yeah! Worked a couple of projects and fireteamed up with her an' Elsie Bray. She kept gettin' torn between wantin' company an' bein' easily annoyed by havin' company. I fixed her dinner once, too. Actually convinced her to eat it and lo and behold turns out girl likes gumbo.

Well, in a manner of speaking. She's an exo. Turns out pappy got a little inventive with his sweet little heiresses. She was set on helpin' out the guardian, led 'em to Europa an' the Deep Stone Crypt.

[As much as he likes having the drop on Cayde and milking it for all it's worth, the Lone Wolf has put one little sliver of sentiment in him. It's shameful and it don't belong there, and he's pretty sure it's the worst that could happen to him. But.... still....]

That is not true! I have faith in the City, and the City stands and is more magnificent than I ever dreamed. I have faith in Guardian, for centuries, and now I am not dead, and also hear of amazing things they have done.

And I have faith in Osiris.

Look, I ain't sayin' people ain't likable. Hell, I even like Osiris. Fun fella to discuss technicalities together and has the notion to not give a damn what people think of him. But he did have a Hive Queen wearin' his face like a drama mask for a good long while. Can't count on that.

Last City is also bait for every menace that comes wantin' humanity. I warned the Guardian once ain't no Ward of Dawn big enough to protect her.

Still counts. Someone used people's faith against 'em. Hell, I even got taken for a ride there. At least our acquaintanceship was real casual. [He cannot imagine how Saint could keep his faith after that. But he guesses it's in the name.]

That's two things we ain't in disagreement on. Shoulda crushed that ghost like an afterthought. Make a point of doin' it, even. And yeah, I ain't against fireteamin' up. But that ain't faith. That's an alliance to a common goal.

A fireteam ain't about a lifelong friendship! It's about a task y'all gotta complete. An agreement that haul at the end is worth the effort.

No. Fireteam is about trusting others with you life. Having faith that they will watch your back, and you will watch theirs.

I did wonder about the skull. He has not mentioned the witch though.

It is very different to my accolades, but... I think might not be bad idea.

Nah, turns out that song he thought was Eris's? Well that was Savathun's, and she used that skull to put it in his head. Got some kinda psychic strength through a song meme. I knew Moondust was too proud to make any kinda song that didn't sound like a poem about death.

Of course he does. I cain't believe of all people I might havta be the guy to tell him, "Hey, maybe if you got somethin' with bad vibes? Throw it out. Or put it into armor, or somethin'." Y'all [he means Titans] got any Ahamkara armor? I figure ya do, but I ain't up on every piece.

She does. Even hearin' her hum the tune to ask if that's what Shaxx was singin' felt a little odd on the ears.

[He'll... get back to the fireteam argument. He's not in fireteams all that much anymore but now he's talking about Eris and Shaxx and he is a man that likes to gab. When you're alone for long stretches, you get excited when anyone drops into your conversational space.]

Faith... uh... moren' just likin' someone. Like they'll get your back if you fall down. That if you begged 'em for help they'd be there. Not in just the casual probabilities and ingredients, that certainty in someone bein' reliable.

I've found in most cases most people ain't reliable, even if they got every intention to be. And most things godlike? Only ever had an agenda and small folk never mattered much to 'em.

All right, so: believing that someone, or something, will always be there for you no matter what. And not just having a pretty good idea that it's true based on personal history.

You're right, that kind of faith in gods or institutions is a losing game. And unless you're basing it on something, having that kind of faith in a person is probably just putting them on a pedestal. Not exactly fair to them, or you.

Well, back in my neck of the woods there's all kinds of things people put their faith in. Things as prolific as gods. Powerful, flawed people that get mistaken as gods. People gettin' themselves killed 'cause of some kinda love too strong to let 'em see straight.

Faith smokes up your head, doesn't let you have clear vision.
