I am going to assume this is the truth because it came from you, big brother. I know nothing else about the situation.

[But! They are still going to glomp their tall friend...and nuzzle...because Maed needs protection if he gets bothered by somebody! And yes, Tar will totally try to fight all the other tall elves.]

Many of my younger brothers would disagree, but I think I know my father well enough to know he made more than a few mistakes in life. Your confidence in me is confidence inspiring, little brother.

[He gives Tar a tight hug back, smiling widely.]

I feel that looking at anybody with authority, be they king or family patriarch, with some healthy skepticism is the best way to deal with things... but I was born into a particularly corrupt drow elf society...so I may have a plank in my eye over all that.

Even the wisest man can be wrong at times, and my father was far from wise. He was inteligent, that is true, but he could be incredibly stupid when it came to people and how to interact with them.

You are preaching to the choir, as it is said. Not that it's easy to work with people sometimes. I was trained and praised for my knack for it, and I still will meet people I don't know how to deal with...but I have a kobold friend who is much the same...though his issue is more thinking about the consequences of his actions than dealing with others. If he's given the chance to speak, he could sell ice to Northern folk.

I think as long as one does not intentionally go out of ones own way to antagonize people they are doing well enough. Something that my father had trouble doing. It made things difficult at times because he always seemed to make someone mad.
