[ snorts. oh dear, oh dear. ] Far too late, friend. I have been stuck like this for over thirty years. Some of the children, even longer. There's no hope for any of us.

I am sorry... that must have been painful for all of you. Do you not know any reason why you might all have for lingering then? It is unusual for spirits to remain after death.

Revenge, presumably. Getting back at the one responsible. As is usually the case with such accursed situations.

Unlikely. Lots of people yearn for revenge as they die, yet few are those that stay behind as housless spirits. Something must have gone wrong for you not to hear the call that beckons your spirit to whatever awaits on the other side...

Sometimes there's no poetic reason behind it, you know. Sometimes, shit just happens. Or, in my case, doesn't happen.

I suppose so... maybe I shouldn't be so surprised, when I have seen more senseless horror than most.
