Capes are a perfectly sensible accessory to wear in everyday life.

If you’re talking about ‘everyday life’ in the sense of someone who isn’t going to end up in a fight at some point, sure. I’ll give you that.

Otherwise... if you’ve got a cape somewhere, I can make a solid case against this argument in about five seconds— ten at most.

I’ll argue that point. I’ve been in several fights involving capes where they didn’t hinder me at all.

Midgardian fashion really has gone downhill in the last few centuries.

Sadly, yes. Most people think me eccentric at best for wearing one. I suppose I shall simply have to be a trendsetter and bring it back into fashion.

I agree with you. A little impractical in a fight, but otherwise capes are an ideal accessory.

I'd ask why this opinion is so unpopular, but maybe fashion sense is different in my galaxy as compared to yours.

Most people think that capes are old-fashioned, meant for royalty and those who think they’re on the same level as the aristocracy. I feel they are completely wrong in this line of thinking.

The irony is, I used to be both. But that wasn't why I wore them. Part of it was intimidation, granted, and a lot of it was looks.

And if you're quick enough on your feet, they won't get in the way in battle. Spoken from experience.

Intimidation and a look are both valid reasons to wear them.

And I agree. They've never hampered my ability to fight.

I still wear them because I think they look good on me. A lot about me has changed, but not my flair for the dramatic.

Nor mine. A good fighter can adapt.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with being dramatic.

If they cannot, then it wasn't the fault of the cape that caused them to perish. They were simply a bad fighter.

Not if you might have to transform in a sparkbeat, they're not.

We only wear them at ceremonies for a reason.

Somewhat. Mutants are the evolved form of homo sapiens and we are not so unlike as to be called an entirely new species yet.

Give it time.

I am sure I won't be around that long. Unlike robots, humans have finite lifespans.

Everything dies, eventually. The trick is to make it as difficult as possible for the universe to take you out. Our species and humanity seem to be rather more violent than the vast majority of species in this galaxy, and what takes us out is usually another mech.

Humanity does seem bound on a path to destroy themselves, it is true.

I had an argument once with Optimus about that. One of my dear friends, my third-in-command, has veritable raptures of anguish when he thinks about how much of Earth's biosphere humanity has destroyed in far less time than it took our species to do that much damage. He likes elephants.

He used to like thylacines. Sadly the ones he once kept have all passed away.

I don't know if there are human outliers (mutants) in our universe but I will look out for them, in case there are. It doesn't surprise me that humans treated them no better than our government treated outliers. As different as humans and Cybertronians are, we're alike in all the worst ways.
