Do you think people are too sensitive? Or that Superman isn't so super? Think cats aren't cute? The Beatles are overrated? Love pineapple on pizza? Maybe you just don't like chips rly. Even the best of us have some controversial opinions. Let people know what a monster you are.

Leeches are actually incredibly useful for preventing necrosis after delicate surgical procedures involving a lot of small blood vessels. They stimulate the circulatory system and relieve venous congestion.

They're frequently used after plastic surgery and reattachment of lost digits or limbs.

Also, acetylsalicylic acid is what makes willow bark useful for pain. I'd rather use cannabinoids on an injured patient, though, ASA can interfere with blood clotting.

I'm an alchemist; and one of my husbands is a trauma chirurgeon.

Are you from a patriarchal culture? (I'm inclined to agree with you. An awful lot of human men think all the women of my species are incredibly domineering and selfish.)

That shit makes no sense to me.

Nobody ever has to wonder who the mother of a litter of kits is, so why in the world would anyone ever use fatherhood as a basis for inheritance? And frankly a lot of males can't handle a woman in season all by themselves.

You're half right.

People remain who they are at heart.

But sometimes they come to the conclusion that the axioms on which they based their moral reasoning, or the facts on which they based their practical reasoning, are untrue, and they have to change their actions in order to continue being the people they are at heart. This often has nothing whatsoever to do with externally-imposed 'consequences'.

Also, both mechs and organic persons can be changed profoundly as a result of injury or toxicity to the processing unit. Sometimes these changes are desirable even to the person who suffers the insult, which is why we use 'surgery' and 'medication' to help people change their behaviour. (Unfortunately, at least in the society I come from, these tools are far more frequently used on people without their consent or understanding.)

I don't actually care about this argument; I just find it ridiculous, as someone who actually lived through the 1960s and 1970s, that anyone thinks either the Stones or the Beatles were the best bands of that era.

The Grateful Dead blew both of them away, although my favourite band at that time was actually Yes.

It matters if you're sitting in prison for saying it. Does that not happen where you come from, or do they just make up good enough excuses for it that nobody realises?

Though, actually, the things I said that got me put in prison in my youth turned out to be extremely popular. They just weren't popular with the people who were benefitting from the widespread injustice I called other people's attention to.
