aita?

am i the asshole?

Life isn’t always black and white. Sometimes it’s hard to tell who’s really at fault, and no one wants to believe they’re the bad guy. Sometimes you need an outside opinion. Or several.

Tell your side of the story and crowdsource an honest answer to the age old question; Am I The Asshole?

Top Level

with your character explaining a situation where they might have been the asshole.

That's because you're an angel! Of course you don't care whether you found one pound or a hundred pounds lying about. But you have to think like a human. It's like--

Like someone glued an old book to the sidewalk!

It's only money, after all!

[Aziraphale stops. He stares at Crowley. Then he looks away, frowning, taking a deep breath. He looks back.]

R-really?

One of the better ones?

[ Oh... oh this is dangerous territory. On the one hand, he wants to make and win his point. But on the other... well, he knows Aziraphale can be a bit sensitive when books are concerned. ]

No, no, I wouldn't say that. More like... one of those movie tie-in prints. With the pictures of actors on the cover and all that.

[ ... yes, he knows he's losing ground but----- shut up okay ]

[Aziraphale is doing the whole Disney eyes thing at Crowley just now, not that he has any idea who Disney might be or why his eyes might be important. His lower lip quivers anxiously, for even though this is merely a hypothetical, it's about books.]

Really?

Ah.

Not as important, then.

Phew.

[He gives Crowley a sunny smile, appreciating as always a certain demon's lack of self-care when it comes to making his angel feel better. He DOES care about his demon's self-care otherwise. Promise!]

[ Shitshitshit -- for a good second Crowley really thinks he's done it now. He'll have made the angel cry (which, ironically, was probably more valid demonic activity and gluing coins to sidewalks) and then he'd have to do something to make up for it.

But then the clouds lift and there's that sunny smile -- not that he cares or anything -- and the danger's passed. ]

Yes, see. Minor inconvenience, but frustrating all the same. Humans hate that sort of thing. Trust me, I've been at this a long time.
