I repeatedly told Palpatine it was a foolish, conceited plan. I repeatedly told him and others it was completely profane. Erso repeatedly told Krennic about the very issue the Rebellion exploited to destroy it and I followed up on the messages with a high importance bang and demanded answers and investigation. I pitched Grand Admiral Thrawn's plan for enhanced TIE fighters to the point of literal bodily harm. The only thing I could have done more to stop the Death Star's construction would be to literally hold Krennic's hand and walk him through the issues. And probably kill Tarkin - which was I expressly forbidden from doing.

Do you honestly think I couldn't have snatched that data file from the hands of the soldiers who had it before they passed it to the Princess' ship?

It is not my responsibility to idiot-proof them.
