how to play:

Top level with some aspect of your character's reputation they might be trying to shake. Maybe it's something they're tired of people assuming about them, blaming them for, or pigeonholing them into, etc. Say it in person or over text.

[ for a moment he just looks fucking baffled, as he's wont to do, but it passes quickly enough. ]

[ his eyebrow twitches, but he's not going to ask why; he's going to accept that flinging underwear is something that humans do under circumstances that he couldn't begin to fathom and leave it at that. ]

I always thought you and Sam had all the fans. I was never meant to be a main character.

[ he's talking about the books. obviously. or maybe he's thinking of that suspicious alternate universe where their lives were a television show... ]

I did get more involved than I had intended to. But I don't think my popularity is just because of my presence, there must be a reason... Perhaps I should check these social media websites. Just to see. It's pertinent research— I really should know these things.

[ he's gonna do it, dean. you can't stop him. he has his own laptop you can't lock that one too. ]

Still... [ he's got a thoughtful look on his face. ] I'd like to see what they have to say about me.

[ cas flutters there and back in the span of a few seconds, his laptop tucked under an arm. he sets it down on the library table and opens the lid, perching in a nearby chair with plenty of room for dean beside him. he glances up. ]

What should we search for?

[ he's still not entirely comfortable with technology, even if he's gotten a lot of milage out of it lately. ]

Uuh..

[ Lets see, he found some of the forums last time, but they were mainly between him, sam, and him and sam. gross. ]

Maybe.. 'Castiel stans'?

[messenger]

Alright.

[ he doesn't recognize the terminology, but dean tends to know these things better than him, and so he leans over and types into the keyboard with his brow furrowed. he immediately gets several hits, and actually, they all seem mostly relevant. of course, unlike sam and dean, the name castiel isn't particularly common, so it alone is bound to turn up something.

although he does get several responses peppered between the more relevant results, regarding the angel cassiel, and castiel wonders how the machine makes the connection. he glances to dean. ]

[ machines are dumb and Dean, squints at the 'correction', then shrugs. ]

[ he starts with the first one, then, which just so happens to be a twitter account. didn't the man he spoke to mention that website? he's really only very vaguely aware of social media. sam and dean don't use it, except sometimes for research. and what he finds there is, um. interesting. to say the least. most of the content is focused on the first few years of his life on earth, owing to the fact the books released never went much further than that. it means most of the discussion is centered around his fall from heaven.

he can't help the way his ears go pink to see people dissecting something so personal. but there's also a strange sense of loyalty there, even approval for his actions— but that's not what surprises him. it's just so strange to see people speak as though they genuinely like him.
