Top level with some aspect of your character's reputation they might be trying to shake. Maybe it's something they're tired of people assuming about them, blaming them for, or pigeonholing them into, etc. Say it in person or over text.

Look, the vegetables in ramen aren't usually there for taste, anyway. It's about texture. You don't love the crunch of a bean sprout between your teeth? Or scallions, that little crispy feeling when you bite down, but with a peppery freshness that something fried wouldn't have? The way the broth gets tangled in a wilted spinach leaf, leaves you with a pocket of goodness in your mouth? Menma, those fermented bamboo shoots? They hold onto the broth's umami taste like crazy!
