unpopular opinions

Do you think people are too sensitive? Or that Superman isn't so super? Think cats aren't cute? The Beatles are overrated? Love pineapple on pizza? Maybe you just don't like chips rly. Even the best of us have some controversial opinions. Let people know what a monster you are.

top level

with your characters’ unpopular and/or controversial opinion. Or share few of them at once. In person or via text. Prepare for disagreement.

to tell them why they're wrong, validate a kindred spirit, or just troll them for caring about such a silly-ass thing in the first place.

Nah, they're usually too crazy to be real and just end up funny.

Hm. I definitely have stories that fit that description.
It can be kind of irritating though. When I'm finally being honest and every thinks it's a lie anyway.

If you told me it was true I'd believe you.

Yeah? Thanks.

I know a guy who's just a brain in a robot suit.

[personal profile] skeddie 2020-10-06 02:55 am (UTC)(link)
Whoa. Does the brain just bounce around in there like a ping pong ball?

That is a good question. I don't know. His head isn't see-through. I saw his brain on a table once. But I don't know how they stuck it in there. I know it's hardwired because one time a rat got in him and chewed up his wiring.

Jesus fucking Christ that's scary! I wouldn't want a fucking rat chewing on my body. If he's hardwired does that mean his brain is like a computer? He can't catch any plagues from the rats or anything?

Most of him is inorganic so. I don't think he's susceptible to most diseases. He doesn't even feel things like we do. But I guess if it was... a brain disease? I dunno, I'm not a doctor. I majored in physics and engineering.

So it wasn't something engineering could fix? How did he get better?

[personal profile] horticulturalist 2020-10-06 10:36 pm (UTC)(link)
There's a... kind of engineering involved in bio-technology. But not the kind I know anything about.

A friend of ours specializes in that sort of thing. I guess they got his wires uncrossed. Or. Whatever it is mad-scientists do to people.

sorry for the html!

[personal profile] skeddie 2020-10-06 11:40 pm (UTC)(link)
YOU KNOW A MAD SCIENTIST TOO???
horticulturalist: (leaving)

no worries!

[personal profile] horticulturalist 2020-10-06 11:44 pm (UTC)(link)
Way too many of them if I'm being honest.

Your life is crazy. I just know a kid who can burp the ABCs.
horticulturalist: (tea)

[personal profile] horticulturalist 2020-10-07 12:10 am (UTC)(link)
I can't tell you how much I wish a kid who can burp the alphabet was the weirdest person I knew.

[personal profile] skeddie 2020-10-07 12:34 am (UTC)(link)
Maybe... adjust your weird expectations?

Easier said than done.
Every time I think I've gotten use to everything being completely inexplicable something more inexplicable happens.

Sounds like you need a vacation.

[personal profile] horticulturalist 2020-10-07 12:53 am (UTC)(link)
Maybe I do.
Where should I go, Eddie? Where would you go?
skeddie: (pic#14345283)

[personal profile] skeddie 2020-10-07 02:57 am (UTC)(link)
Have you ever been to the Air and Space Museum at the Smithsonian? That sounds like your kinda thing.

I'd probably do something dumb like go to Disney World.
horticulturalist: (leaving)

[personal profile] horticulturalist 2020-10-07 03:03 am (UTC)(link)
You know what? I haven't.
It didn't open until '76. I was supposed to be dead by then.

Then again I've never been to Disney World either.
skeddie: (pic#14345294)

[personal profile] skeddie 2020-10-07 04:32 am (UTC)(link)
Why were you supposed to be dead?

So do both, dude!
horticulturalist: (tea)

[personal profile] horticulturalist 2020-10-07 04:39 am (UTC)(link)
Because my X-15 went down and when they couldn't figure out what was keeping me alive that's the PR story they went with.

Last time I tried to leave town a... friend wouldn't let me. But I'd like to do one of those some time.

[personal profile] skeddie 2020-10-07 04:45 am (UTC)(link)
Just tell your friend you need a vacation. You're not going away forever! Long enough to get souvenirs though.
horticulturalist: (sheepish)

[personal profile] horticulturalist 2020-10-07 04:46 am (UTC)(link)
Oh, he knows. And he'd have to come with me. But he's kind of calling the shots around here.
skeddie: (pic#14345279)

[personal profile] skeddie 2020-10-07 04:48 am (UTC)(link)
Group vacation then. I'd wanna take one with my friends if I could.
