unpopular opinions

Do you think people are too sensitive? Or that Superman isn't so super? Think cats aren't cute? The Beatles are overrated? Love pineapple on pizza? Maybe you just don't like chips rly. Even the best of us have some controversial opinions. Let people know what a monster you are.

top level

with your characters’ unpopular and/or controversial opinion. Or share few of them at once. In person or via text. Prepare for disagreement.

to tell them why they're wrong, validate a kindred spirit, or just troll them for caring about such a silly-ass thing in the first place.

I used to be a test pilot. I flew all the expensive planes and fighter jets the Air Force had. They were bitchin'.
I'd like that. I don't get to see a lot of new places.

Sorry. Most of my stories are.

I live in Maine. I'd say come visit but it's kinda boring.

Well get some better ones. Or make 'em up.

I hear it's really pretty there this time of year.

I'm really trying to get out of the habit of telling a lot of lies.

I guess. We get leaf tourists. Who travels across the country for fucking leaves?

I'm not saying you gotta lie. I mean like making up a story like an author writes a book.
horticulturalist: (proper)

[personal profile] horticulturalist 2020-10-06 02:28 am (UTC)(link)
Heh. People with nothing better to do I guess.

I think... that's only not a lie if I actually write a book.

Didn't you ever tell ghost stories? Or have a parent tell you a bedtime story? Those weren't books.
horticulturalist: (cautious)

[personal profile] horticulturalist 2020-10-06 02:34 am (UTC)(link)
Oh. I see. I thought you meant— never mind.

Aren't ghost stories kind of depressing too?
skeddie: (pic#14345299)

[personal profile] skeddie 2020-10-06 02:43 am (UTC)(link)
Nah, they're usually too crazy to be real and just end up funny.
horticulturalist: (sheepish)

[personal profile] horticulturalist 2020-10-06 02:49 am (UTC)(link)
Hm. I definitely have stories that fit that description.
It can be kind of irritating though. When I'm finally being honest and every thinks it's a lie anyway.

If you told me it was true I'd believe you.

[personal profile] horticulturalist 2020-10-06 02:53 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah? Thanks.

I know a guy who's just a brain in a robot suit.
skeddie: (pic#14345279)

[personal profile] skeddie 2020-10-06 02:55 am (UTC)(link)
Whoa. Does the brain just bounce around in there like a ping pong ball?
horticulturalist: (leaving)

[personal profile] horticulturalist 2020-10-06 03:03 am (UTC)(link)
That is a good question. I don't know. His head isn't see-through. I saw his brain on a table once. But I don't know how they stuck it in there. I know it's hardwired because one time a rat got in him and chewed up his wiring.

Jesus fucking Christ that's scary! I wouldn't want a fucking rat chewing on my body. If he's hardwired does that mean his brain is like a computer? He can't catch any plagues from the rats or anything?

Most of him is inorganic so. I don't think he's susceptible to most diseases. He doesn't even feel things like we do. But I guess if it was... a brain disease? I dunno, I'm not a doctor. I majored in physics and engineering.

So it wasn't something engineering could fix? How did he get better?
horticulturalist: (sheepish)

[personal profile] horticulturalist 2020-10-06 10:36 pm (UTC)(link)
There's a... kind of engineering involved in bio-technology. But not the kind I know anything about.

A friend of ours specializes in that sort of thing. I guess they got his wires uncrossed. Or. Whatever it is mad-scientists do to people.
skeddie: (pic#14345261)

sorry for the html!

[personal profile] skeddie 2020-10-06 11:40 pm (UTC)(link)
YOU KNOW A MAD SCIENTIST TOO???
horticulturalist: (leaving)

no worries!

[personal profile] horticulturalist 2020-10-06 11:44 pm (UTC)(link)
Way too many of them if I'm being honest.

Your life is crazy. I just know a kid who can burp the ABCs.
horticulturalist: (tea)

[personal profile] horticulturalist 2020-10-07 12:10 am (UTC)(link)
I can't tell you how much I wish a kid who can burp the alphabet was the weirdest person I knew.
skeddie: (pic#14345295)

[personal profile] skeddie 2020-10-07 12:34 am (UTC)(link)
Maybe... adjust your weird expectations?

Easier said than done.
Every time I think I've gotten use to everything being completely inexplicable something more inexplicable happens.

Sounds like you need a vacation.

[personal profile] horticulturalist 2020-10-07 12:53 am (UTC)(link)
Maybe I do.
Where should I go, Eddie? Where would you go?
