how to play:

Top level with something(s) your character is tired of people assuming about them, blaming them for, or pigeonholing them about, etc. Say it in person or over text.

Comment on any surprising, or not so surprising declarations.

Vampire, yes. Murderous, not so much. I mean, I'm not harmless, but I'm not leaving drained corpses in my wake.

I am extremely driven and because my pursuits demand a lot of hard, focussed work, I spend a lot of my time wrapped up in serious matters.

I am not as uptight as some people imagine simply because I don't spend more time goofing off.

It's Boimler. Not Bumford. And just because I'm the kind of can-do command-division ensign who does things by the book doesn't mean I don't know how to have a good time. Hoo boy, I've thrown some ragers in my day, if you know what I mean. They nicknamed my dormitory Risa 2.

Having less energy than you doesn't automatically make me lazy or mean I don't care about whatever we're doing. I'm just tired.

Just because my mother is a career criminal and has murdered dozens of people doesn't mean I am evil. I'm not her. I am my own person and while I'm far, far, far from perfect, I would love it if people could give me a break.

Refusing to put up with your bullshit doesn’t make me an asshole, and I’m not standing in anyone’s shadow. Never have been.

Just ‘cause something bad went down in a city I just happened to be passing through doesn’t mean I did it. Like I had enough time in the day to do half the shit the cops pinned on me.

Even now that I'm trying to change, I'm still not the friendliest man in the galaxy. Never will be.

But I have reasons for looking and acting the way I do that are deeper than just being "edgy", as the Earth term goes.

Just because my species can secrete poison doesn't mean I'm always secreting it! I can control it, I haven't had an accident since I was a tadpole, and I'm a very hygienic doctor. Please don't think less of me as a medical professional just because of my species.

I’m not just some stupid slut with no brain, you know. And I am not a homewrecker.

1. People need to stop assuming that I'm not fully sapient because I am cat-shaped.

2. People need to stop assuming that I have a parental relationship with Soundwave. We met as young adults. We just declared ourselves conjunx endurae.

3. I am not, nor was I ever, Soundwave's pet or Megatron's pet. Sleeping in the comfortable lap of someone I care for a great deal is simply a privilege afforded to me by virtue of being smaller than most mechs.

4. Soundwave has had a lot of cassettes over the years. I am not friendly with all of them. I do not think of any of them as my child or my sibling. I know there are all these romantic stories about sparkmerging resulting in the development of sparklings, but if that's ever happened it was a really long time ago. Therefore, I do not actually have any children or siblings.

Ah... well, in spite of how I look, I really am a high school student, and I'm haven't repeated any years of school, and I'm not actually a 20 year old, or a gang leader, or even in a gang, and I'm not a drug dealer either!

I have no idea where people got this idea in their heads that supervillains woke up one day and decided to become villains. I wanted to be a farmer. I wanted to live in the countryside in a sleepy little town with my husband, my extended family, and a safe place to raise children.

Am I evil? Maybe. But I wasn't born that way. And in viewing the world as 'born evil' or 'born good', you strip away people's humanity and reduce them to something you feel comfortable killing, which is ultimately not different in any meaningful way from what I do.

Except that I'm honest about it.

Having faith doesn't mean I'm naïve to reality, nor does it mean I'm not willing to get my hands dirty by putting in the work.

I've never killed anyone. I'm not that kind of ghost.

I’ve never assaulted anyone. I was arrested because I stepped in to save someone and I’d do it again even knowing now what it’d get me.
